Happy 4th of July Weekend Friends and Family!  What are your plans for the long weekend?  As per usual, I will be out in Montauk.  Emily will be in Chicago whooping it up (and celebrating her birthday - happy bday Sissy!).

To get in the spirit of the 4th my friend Maria and I got our freedom manicures last night.  What are your thoughts?

C.O. Bigelow

Right down the street from my apartment is C.O. Bigelow pharmacy.  It looks all old timey from the front but inside is stocked with new fangled beauty products from all over the world.  I love to shop here when I need to buy a gift because what gal doesn't like a scented candle or a pack of lip glosses?

People are dying their dogs fur to look like wild animals, and I love it!   I am not even a dog person but I'd like a pup so I can give this a whirl (as long as it was safe for my pet).  My favorite animals are giraffes and elephants... what breed would work for these???

The New Bedoozle Headquarters???

UPDATE - Bad news, this is not actually the F.O.T.B. house.  Well they used the backyard of the Alhambra house but the front is not the right one.  The real house is located at 843 S. El Molino Ave. in Pasadena (google map it).  Good news, I have found us a better place for our headquarters!

I love this house, it is so charming and cozy.  I also love this movie but Emily really LOVESSSS it.  We watched it while getting ready for her wedding.  Also she loves to quote it.  For example, when I finally got an iPhone (Xmas 2010) she said "Welcome to the 90's Mr. Banks."   Hahahaha.

Light Fixture

I just ordered our light fixture that will be over our dining room table.

 

Room and Board Light Fixture

The j-box isn't exactly over the table so we will need to make it a swag light.  Which is fine.  I have told our electrician so he can get the correct kit to install the light the way we want it. 

How do you guys feel about swag lights?  I know some people really hate them, so feel free to be honest!  We don't really have a choice in this matter since our ceilings are concrete and the j-boxes cannot be moved.

Bridal Party Party

Saturday we hosted our friend's Matt & Erin's Bridal Party Party / Man Shower and it was a huge success!

We had lots of food.  Cupcakes from Sweet Mandy B's, a favorite bakery of ours that we actually had our wedding cake from.  Mini burritos from Flaco's Tacos.   Skinny Girl Margaritas and of course lots of other fun booze options.

Our parents love to be outside.  They are always taking walks along the lake front of Chicago or riding their bikes.  So we thought we would get Dad some new "walkin" shoes.  And you can never have enough work out clothes.  Since our brother, Chris, Kate and I all went to University of Illinois it is only fitting that we get him U of I Nike gear.

Hey Ya'll,

Last night I went to the Rihanna concert with my sisters-in-law and their friends.  Rihanna is quite the preformer.  Her outfits were amazing and the dancers were awesome.  We got to see it all from really great seats. 

Before the concert we went to Beer Bistro on Madison (http://www.thebeerbistro.com/).  I would definitley go back to this place.  A ton of beers to choose from as well as the perfect bar food.  Try the spinach dip, its delish!

Have any of you guys gone to see Rihanna?  Are you planning on going to any concerts this summer?  Maybe even Brit Brit?

Mani / Pedis

Everything in NYC is crazy expensive...rent, food, LIFE!   But I have found you can get a killer mani / pedi for $20.00 total.  There are literally ten mani / pedi salons in a two block radius of my West Village apartment that offer this deal.  Pretty sweet.

Anyway, last night I opted for the round nail instead of my typical square filed nails.  What are your thoughts? 

I think square nails are so 1990s and I want to bring the round nail back.  Emily disagrees... but this is what I think of her opinion.

Amsale Girls

Happy Monday Everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend :-)

Have you seen this new show, Amsale Girls?  Its on We TV (http://www.wetv.com/shows/amsale-girls).  I DVRed it but haven't watched it yet.  It is a lot like Say Yes to the Dress but it is taped at Amsale's Flag Ship Store in NYC.  My wedding dress was Amsale so I am really excited to watch the show. 

Hopefully it is as entertaining as Say Yes.  I will let you guys know!

HOT for COLDplay...

Emily and I have been Coldplay fans for years now... we never miss a show!  We even went to a small private Coldplay concert once where Gwyneth Paltrow was sitting right behind us (we LURVER her too).

Thoughts???  I like it, but not as much as their old stuff to be honest.  I can't wait to hear the whole album though.  I am sure there will be a few surprises on there.  I wonder if they will play it at Lollapalooza this year?  Em and I are going, are any of you?

Turkey Time

TGIF Everybody!  I never got around to posting this yesterday...

Matt made the most fabulous turkey burgers for me Wednesday night.  I got home from a really long day, with no time to eat lunch and was surprised to find my man makin me dinner.  How lucky am I!?

Kitchen Remodel Update

Matt and I have officially ordered our kitchen sink and faucet and I thought I would show it to you guys today! 

First the sink...

Its Franke and I love it because we also ordered the Roller Mat which sits on top of the sink and becomes a drying rack for our pots and pans or even our stemware.  Such an amazing invention!

We have also ordered our faucet.  It is the Grohe and we ordered it in Chrome.

What do you guys think?  I can't wait to see it all together especially against the dark granite counters and marble back splash.
